Donald Trump has won the race for the White House and whether you view this as a good or bad outcome is a subject best left for the pub with a stiff pint. What I am interested in knowing, is will the result affect the UK Property Market and if so, to what degree?
Industry Experts agree that the main affect, if any, will be seen in London. They expect to see an increase of purchases from American clients who will seek to emigrate in the wake of Donald Trump’s victory. The prospect of new, game changing US and UK trade deals could also add a surge of US investment into the UK property market. Others say the investment won’t come from the US but other countries altogether. Wealthy investors, in particular from China, Europe and the Middle East, often see New York as a safe investment; however the recent election result could see that investment money spent in the UK.
Donald Trump’s inauguration will take place on 20th January 2017, so until then all we can do is sit back and enjoy the ride. Grab the popcorn while you can!
