Urmston is thriving at the moment and I don’t just mean the property market. We have new shops, bars, and more restaurants than I know what to do with. However, none or at least very little of them are health orientated; there’s nowhere to go for quick and convenient healthy food… until now. FEED is opening on Flixton Road in the next month or so; their premises are sandwiched (see what I did there?) between Urmston Bookshop and The Salon with work well underway. The majority of their furniture, interior decor and even the food boxes are made with reused material with minimal waste, a very conscious decision from the start. The business oozes community, choosing only to work with local tradesmen to bring the shop to life.
FEED will be offering fresh and healthy prepared meals, catering for vegans and meat eaters alike with ‘grab & go’ style fridges which also stock smoothies and juices, prepared on site every morning. They also offer a ‘build your own box’ service, allowing customers to create their own meals; ensuring variety is always an option. Personally, I can’t wait for another local business to open up and certainly one that’s providing healthy eating options. I hope to see some of you in FEED soon!
